This shoot was so much FUN! This is a real client (also one of our associate photographers “Laura”) in her own retro styled kitchen. No stylists, no models, no set designers, just a lot of forethought put into this before the shoot. Laura and I shared a Pinterest board before the shoot to collaborate ideas and feeback. Laura had hair and makeup done that morning in the 50’s pin up style and then she put on that swanky little polka dot dress that fit her and this scene to a T. From there we lit the scene, played, laughed and created some really great images.
Then it was time to take advantage of those pretty Carolina Blue skies with an original Pram baby carriage that was found while cleaning out her husband’s grand parent’s house. It had been her mother-in-law’s carriage when she was a baby “in the 50’s”. It was just perfect against that gorgeous Winter sky.
Finished off the shoot with a couple more shots at the old courthouse in downtown Monroe and called it a day. By then “Little Momma” needed a break from those hot little red pumps.

This is Brittany. She has more horse ribbons than she can count. She’s an avid rider and competes nationally across the country. We just knew that capturing her in her element would yield some stunning results.

Ever look back through old photos and get the biggest smile on your face when you come across that moment, that special place, that special person that makes your heart happy. I can remember going through my Grandmother’s and my Mom’s old photos and studying them for details, faces of people I new, family pets and so forth. Family history and details were learned and shared through our photographs from many generations ago.
This year we’ve decided to create a little family history of our own. Every year we spend time with Mom during the Holidays. We always look forward to her baking those Chocolate Chip Cookies from her old family recipe. She’s baked them for us while we were growing up, our children and now we have our first Grandchild to add to the mix. While looking at the old fashioned mixer sitting on the counter one morning we decided that cookie making with GG (Great Grandmother) would make a great story to capture and pass down for future generations.
We captured everything from the ingredients to the pile of cookies cooling on the countertop. Our 5 1/2 month old Grandson Blayden was in rare form as he handled the chocolate chips, covered himself in flour and entertained all of us during the shoot.
We’ll not only share what we captured online, we’ll create an album for the family as a keepsake to share. In our family it’s important to print the images we capture for future generations to experience.

Jia was preparing to compete in several beauty pageants across the United States and needed to have her portfolio updated. Jia’s Mom knew that her little girl’s features were changing and it was important to keep her portfolios updated and current. She also wanted to work with a local studio that could provide a warm and friendly environment to capture her daughter’s true personality. Having digital files was also very important because Jia would compete with a scrapbook made of her best photos from the shoot.
Jia won several titles this year; the ones listed below were directly related to the portfolio photos taken at our studio.
*Supermodel with Style Award (photogenic/ scrapbook and modeling) plus Photogenic at the Miss New England in CT (www.coutopageants.com). She was also featured on a full page in the Supermodels Unlimited magazine.
*Miss New England Gold Queen (photogenic and scrapbook).
*South Carolina Cinderella Overall Tot
*Wee Miss Fort Mill and Wee Miss Fort Mill Photogenic with our photos this past September!
Jia’s family has also created a local pageant in the area that we have provided a link for. They are great people with high standards and they aspire to promote self-confidence and self-esteem for individuals of all ages, which in our opinion is a great philosophy. The website is www.shiningcrowns.com
